Saint Clair Milesi the managing partner at Share4Sport, was the much-respected guest speaker for the CIES Conference that was held on Sunday the 10th April, 2022. He was the Communications Director for the Paris 2024 Olympic Bid and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Mr. Milesi had flown in from Paris specifically just for the conference, which was the first physical CIES Conference after the pandemic.
Mr. Milesi started the session by relating his personal experience of the bidding process for the Paris 2024 Olympics and also the Rio 2016 Games. He spoke about carefully formulating the vision and mission of the Paris Olympic Games Bid. He mentioned that the vision should be uplifting, inspiring and timeless whereas the mission should be concrete and objective. He also gave an overview of how important it is to map the interest of the stakeholders with their influence/power and stressed that at the core of any bid for a world event is the support and satisfaction of the local public towards the event. The participants were truly enamoured to learn from a person of Mr. Milesi’s stature.
